About Katie Collins "To take a photograph is to participate in another person's mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment and freezing it, all photographs testify to time's relentless melt." - Susan Sontag

Katie Collins grew up in Guernsey, Channel Islands,  before leaving at 18 to undertake a 3 year BA Hons course in Theatre and Media Drama in South Wales. After graduating, Katie moved back to Guernsey and began work at Island FM, Guernsey's commercial radio station as a reporter and later News Editor. After five years and time for a change, Katie decided to pursue another longstanding interest, photography and moved to London to begin a one year MA course in Photojournalism.

Since completing the course in September 2006 she has worked for celebrity photo agency  Matrix where she photographed London Fashion Week and Glastonbury before moving to The Press Association in 2007, where she now works as a Picture Desk Assistant and photographer.
